🌾 Who We Are
CottonPrice.in is India's dedicated cotton market intelligence platform. We aggregate and present live cotton price data directly from the Government of India's Open Data Platform (data.gov.in), making it accessible, searchable, and easy to understand — for everyone from a small farmer in Vidarbha to a commodity analyst in Mumbai.
Our mission is simple: give every stakeholder in India's cotton value chain transparent, timely, and reliable price information — completely free of charge.
📡 Our Data Source
All cotton price data displayed on CottonPrice.in is sourced directly from the data.gov.in API — the official Open Government Data (OGD) Platform of India, maintained by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
Data includes: State, District, Market (Mandi), Variety, Min Price, Max Price & Modal Price — updated daily from official APMC records.
We do not fabricate, estimate, or editorialize the price data. What you see is exactly what is reported by registered Agricultural Produce Market Committees (APMCs) across India.
🎯 Our Mission
India is the world's largest cotton producer and one of its largest consumers. Yet price discovery remains opaque for millions of small farmers who rely on intermediaries and word-of-mouth to understand market conditions.
CottonPrice.in was built to change that — by putting official government price data into a fast, mobile-friendly interface that works for everyone, including those with basic smartphones and slow internet connections.
🛠️ Features
Our platform offers live mandi-wise pricing with state, district, and variety filters; 7-day price trend charts; top mandi volume comparison; CSV export for your own analysis; and a live cotton market news feed — all in one place, with no login required and no paywalls.
👥 Our Team
CottonPrice.in is built and maintained by a passionate team of agri-tech enthusiasts, data engineers, and UI designers who believe in open data for public good.
